Emilia-Romagna is the crossroad of Italy, located right were Italians think the North ends and the Central and South of the country begin. Emilia is the part of the area that stretchs to the North and Romagna the part that streches toward the Adriatic sea with its sandy and sunny beaches.
Bologna International airport is served by all major European airlines and connected to all major Europena capitals. Bologna is, also, Italy most important railroad crossing, traveling to the region by train is easy, quick, and cost effective. All major autostrade (toll-roads) criss-cross the city from all directions.

WHAT TO DO

Bologna is the region capital, nicknamed "LA DOTTA" (the smart) or "LA GHIOTTA" (the enticing) or even "LA GRASSA" (the fat) it depends what is the conversation topic. Bologna is proud of its University, one of the oldest, if not the older, in the Western world. The original seat of this institution, hosted in one of the oldest and most interesting palazzos, can be visit and strongly we suggest to do so.

Half of Emilia Romagna territory is formed by the Apennines Mountains Range; the other half is a large plain, which reaches to the Adriatic Sea. The coastline is flat and sandy, with a typical lagoon and marshy area of the Valli di Comacchio.
The regional capital is Bologna. Other important cities are Parma, Ferrara, Modena, Piacenza, Ravenna, Forlí, Reggio Emilia.
