FRIDAY: ARRIVAL IN CATANIA
Arrival in Catania and free transfer to the hotel. In the evening dinner and overnight in hotel.
SATURDAY: RIVIERA DEI CICLOPI - PALERMO
After breakfast meeting with Our assistance at Hotel for little briefing about general information on the itinerary and visit of Riviera dei Ciclopi. We'll start from Acicastello, a small fishing village with its Norman Castle, built of black lava stone, nestled atop a rocky spur on the sea; Acitrezza, the fishing village where Giovanni Verga (Giovanni Verga, 2 September 1840 - 27 January 1922, was an Italian realist writer, best known for his depictions of life in Sicily..) set his Novel I Malavoglia, dominated on the seaward side by the Rocks of the Cyclops, a treacherous pointed mass of black lava rising up from the crystal-like waters and we'll finish with Acireale, situated at the northern end of the Coast, famous for its Baroque buildings and for its carnival. Lunch in hotel. In the afternoon transfer to Palermo.
SATURDAY: ARRIVAL IN PALERMO
Clients arriving in Palermo will have a self transfer to the Hotel. Meeting with our assistance in the evening for a briefing on general information about the itinerary. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
SUNDAY: PALERMO- MONREALE - CEFALŮ
Breakfast at the hotel; morning visit of the Capital of Sicily, one of the richest town in the island for history and art. We will visit the Cathedral, Palazzo dei Normanni with its Palatina Chapel, Quattro Canti, Opera House, Pretoria Square. We will continue to Monreale to admire the Cathedral with its splendid 12th century mosaics, and the cloister of the Benedectine monastery with Moorish architecture.
In the afternoon we'll continue to Cefalů to visit of the Norman Dome, rich of Byzantine mosaics. In the evening back to Palermo for dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
MONDAY: SELINUNTE - ERICE - AGRIGENTO
Breakfast at the hotel; the all day will be dedicated to the visit of the beautiful area of Trapani, with its vineyards famous all around the world; we will visit the fascinating Erice, a small medieval village with ancient Greek origin, situated on a little hill, where it will be possible to enjoy a fantastic view on the Egadi Islands and have a nice taste of its typical almonds biscuits. In the afternoon we will continue with the visit of the archaeological park of Selinunte, the largest in the Mediterranean area. In the late afternoon we will reach Agrigento; accommodation at hotel, dinner and overnight.
TUESDAY: AGRIGENTO - PIAZZA ARMERINA
Breakfast at the hotel; in the morning we will visit the wonderful Valle dei Templi. Concordia Temple, Ercules Temple, Giunone Temple and Castore and Polluce Temples represent the most beautiful example of the Greek Civilization in Sicily. We will continue to Piazza Armerina, in the heart of Sicily, where we will visit Villa Romana del Casale, famous for its fantastic mosaics. Lunch at a local restaurant. We will continue to the east cost of Sicily. Accommodation in hotel, dinner and overnight.
WEDNESDAY: SIRACUSA - CATANIA
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning excursion to Siracusa, the most beautiful Greek colony of Sicily. We will visit the famous Fontana Aretusa, and the archaeological area with its marvellous theatre and Orecchio di Dionisio. After lunch in Ortigia, the small baroque island, old city centre of Siracusa, the tour will go on with the visit of Catania, the town known for its original baroque style and for its streets built with black lava stone from mount Etna. Walking tour through Via Etnea, the Baroque street Via Crociferi, the Piazza Duomo with the Cathedral and the "Liotru" statue, symbol of the city, the roman Amphitheatre, the Opera House, the University, and the noble Palace of Biscari. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
THURSDAY: ETNA - TAORMINA
Breakfast at the hotel; morning dedicated to a fantastic excursion to Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Across fascinating landscape, we will reach a height of 2000 metres a.s.l., where we will enjoy a fantastic panorama of the Ionic Sea. In the afternoon free time in Taormina, the small medieval village called "the pearl of the Ionic Sea," famous for its typical small streets and his fascinating Greek-Roman theatre. In the late afternoon return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
FRIDAY: DEPARTURE FROM CATANIA
Breakfast at the hotel; End of services for clients arrived in Catania on Friday
FRIDAY: RIVIERA DEI CICLOPI
For people arrived Saturday in Palermo we'll continue with the visit of Riviera dei Ciclopi. Lunch at the hotel and departure to Palermo for dinner and overnight stay
