Il Pellicano, one of the most luxurious and elegant lodging facilities in Italy, is situated on the Argentario Peninsula in Porto Ercole. This exquisite hotel, with endless sea views has a central building and various villas tucked away in a vast Mediterranean garden. Paths wind their way from terraced patios to the swimming pool and private beach. It offers very spacious rooms with gazebos sheltered by pine trees, private boats, informal and fine dining. The rooms are located in the main building as well as in the villas. The Suites and Junior Suites are located in the villas. Activities available at the hotel include: golf, tennis, outdoor pool, spa, fitness, mud baths, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, horseback-riding, fishing, sailing, water-skiing, and diving.
The excellent cuisine is Italian and international._ The elegant dining room has a large terrace with a beautiful sea view and a cellar that holds more than a thousand labels of wine.
Built in the 1960s as a private residential complex, many of the villas that comprise the facility were owned by movie stars and industrial tycoons who sought its secluded location on a cliff cascading into the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. In the late 70s the property was purchased by its present owner, who converted Il Pellicano into the exquisite hotel it is today.
This property enjoys an enchanting sea view. An elevator built into the rock gives access to the bar and beach club located below the fabulous heated sea-water swimming pool.
Nights at Il Pellicano are particularly enjoyable on the sea view terrace of the main building, with live piano and vocal music every evening (except Tuesdays).
