Andrea Bocelli 2012 Live Summer Concert in Tuscany

2010 Concert (File photo)

Teatro del Silenzio
Theatre of Silence

July 7-15/2012
Lajatico Tuscany

What could be more exquisite than experiencing an evening with Andrea Bocelli during a weeklong tour of Tuscany?

I have designed a tour that will give travelers an in-depth look at Tuscany from Pisa to Lucca, San Gimignano to Firenze and even a visit to the ancient town of Volterra. There will be wine-tastings, a cooking class to learn traditional Tuscan specialties, an introduction to Etruscan history in Volterra and a tour of the most famous sites in Florence. All this in addition to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear the inimitable voice of Andrea Bocelli in the Theater of Silence.

Imagine hearing the voice of Andrea Bocelli in his own outdoor theater amid rolling wheat-covered hills in one of central Tuscany’s most picturesque areas. This magnificent theater, framed by medieval hill-towns, cypresses and olive trees, is the Theatre of Silence. It is an open-air natural amphitheater located in Lajatico, Maestro Andrea Bocelli’s hometown.

In 2006, Andrea Bocelli shared his desire for a theater with Lajatico’s mayor and provided much of the funding for this awe-inspiring outdoor facility. Andrea Bocelli signed a contract to perform in 5 concerts, once a year, with an agreement to keep the theater silent for the rest of the time. This is the fifth year of the contract since 2011 was skipped!

The theater itself is like none other. Artwork donated by famous artists is displayed throughout the grounds of this incredible venue. Among the artists represented are: Hans Peter Ditzler, Kurt Laurenz Metzler, Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida, Arnaldo Pomodoro, and Igor Mitoraj.

Andrea Bocelli’s concerts have included singers and performers such as: José Carrera, Placido Domingo, Chris Botti, Laura Pasini, Heather Headley, Lang Lang, Kenny G., Sarah Brightman, Zucchero and many more. I was able to attend the 2010 concert, which has left an indelible impression on me.

The 2012 tickets are selling quickly. Our tour is planned for the week of July 8-15, 2012, a week replete with excursions to the most picturesque of Tuscan hill towns. Space for the tour is limited to 12 travelers. Please give us a call to reserve your place on this unique tour. Transportation to and from the concert venue is part of the package. Tickets to the concert must be purchased separately.
