Splendor of Sicily

Palrermo, Ballarò street market

Palrermo, Ballarò street market

Sicily, the biggest island in the Mediterranean Sea, is full of art, history and traditions. This program provides travelers with everything, beginning with the enchanted beauty of Taormina’s Greek-Roman amphitheater, with its spectacular views of Giardini di Naxos and Mt. Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe, which you will be able to ascend up to a certain height. After this magic stop, tour the Archaeological Park of Syracuse followed by Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples. The Theban poet Pindar described the temples as “the most beautiful city built by mortal men”. All the temples, in Doric style, face east, so that the statue of the god housed in each temple faced the rising sun. Your journey adds Segesta, another memorable setting, dominated by an exceptionally well preserved Doric temple. In Sicily’s capital city, Palermo, among the many distinguished palaces and monuments, visit Monreale’s Benedictine Abbey and admire its outstanding mosaics. Central Holidays’ signature features will all be here. Centrally located first class hotels, modern motorcoaches, top grade guiding, with some meals at local restaurants featuring regional specialties with all main meals with the added perks of free wines, mineral waters, coffee or cappuccino. Also enjoy a welcome cocktail in Taormina a honey tasting on the slopes of Mt. Etna and delicious tasting of sweet wines in Marsala. This vacation you will forever treasure.
