The "Pantalica Agriturismo" is located in the "Anapo Valley" a National Park of exceptional beauty and naturalistic interest. Only 20 miles West of Siracusa it has "all" Mediterranean botanical species and wildlife known and is an unique location for outdoor lover, horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking.
The area was an original settlement of the SICANI people that where the first known inhabitants of Sicily. A large necrpolis can be easily visible today.
The Anapo name comes form the rumbling river that runs at the bottom of the canyon, the Anapo river. The Greek invaders used the river water to feed the city of Siracusa, digging an ingenuous underground aqueduct, large parts are still visible, as well. The Greeks started the construction from three different points with an elliptical shape, they figured that sooner or later they would meet each other. And they did.

Closest airport is the new Catania airport, about one hour driving from the farmhouse and 45 minutes driving from Siracusa. Catania is well connected, by air service, with Rome and Milan or any other European city. Not suggested the train although there is a service between Siracusa and Catania. Best option is rental car that it can be used for excursions in the area very rich of Baroque architecture and historical sites. Noto, Modica, Ragusa are just a few minutes drive from the farmhouse. Also, on request the farmhouse owner offer transfer service from/to Catania airport.
