Abano Terme was well-known since Roman times with the name of Acquae Patavine, some of the ancient baths have been discovered recently. This small spa town, 6 miles south of Padua and only 30 from Venice make this an ideal location for relax and the natural cure of several illnesses. Excellent hotels, good local cuisine, and sport complexes are available all year around at much less cost than Venice. Abano Terme is, also, and excellent location as base for excursion in the Veneto region and the numerous neighboring tourist destinations.
Verona about 50 miles. Lake Garda and wine areas of Valpolicella about 65 miles. Mantua 80 miles, Bologna 70 miles. Ravenna and its famous mosaics 90 miles.
